Sunday Paintings: Bill Pesce at Cooperative

Date:
04/27/2018 - 3:00pm - 6:00pm
Location:
Cooperative Gallery 213 State St Binghamton

Portrait by Bill Pesce

This First Friday the Cooperative Gallery 213 will open an exhibit by the gallery’s newest member, Bill Pesce in “Sunday Paintings.”  Pesce, a commercial artist for 41 years, maintained his interest in painting throughout by painting on Sundays samples of which will be on display. The exhibit, which will run through April 28th, will also include illustrations from his advertising agency career. A reception, open to the public, will be held at the gallery on First Friday from 3- 9 pm.  The members of the Cooperative Gallery will celebrate the show at a reception Thursday April 5th from 6-8 pm and all are welcome.

“It has always been my desire that when I retired I would finally create a serious painting that would be my legacy. After serving as President/ CEO of my advertising agency, that time had come,” said Pesce.  He continues, “I am pleased that many of the paintings are local landscapes and portraits of my four children growing up.  In many ways it is a record of my interests and thinking at different periods of my life.”

Bill, and his wife Johanne, founded the Windsor Whip Works, a non-profit organization in Windsor, which brought fine art to the surrounding area for 11 years. After closing the Windsor Whip Works last year, Pesce has become a member of the Cooperative Gallery 213 in Binghamton.

Also on display during this exhibit will be The Collector's Collection: Bev McLean, an exhibit and sale of art works, including several entries to the International Mini Print Exhibitions

The Cooperative Gallery, a popular stop on the First Friday Art Walk, located at Artists Row --State of the Art, at 213 State Street in Binghamton, is open on First Friday 3- 9 pm and regularly Fridays from 3-6 and Saturdays from 12- 4 pm.  A free weekly e-newsletter is available by signing up at  www.cooperativegallery.com or on Facebook  at Cooperative Gallery 213.
